One thousand and one to do lists

Previous crisis averted. Everything is back on track and so it should be with three days to go! Em has been convinced to come (yay! I reallly wasn't looking forward to spending 24 hours by myself on a plane). All equipment has been begged, borrowed or stolen, evil expensive malaria tablets and all. I've even got camera! Its RED and to paraphrase finding nemo 'I shall call it berry and it will be my berry..' holly..berry..geddit? *invisions eye rolling*.
So anyways we are all set apart from a minour issue with my laptop (it died) meaning that I can't print off some documents (our itnerary!!!) which could lead to some difficulty's (i.e. having noo idea where we are going.) ah. so begins the memory test. While im at it i suppose i should try and learn some Thai? then again since it just looks like a bunch of squiggly lines I might just get practising drawing pictures of food and beds and stuff. ..who am I kidding a picture of a beer bottle will be far more useful!
T minus 74 hours!

Holes in buckets..

So the rain fell..and it fell...and it fell. Cockermouth is well and truly wet which leaves me in a very soggy situation.
Problem number one..Em's ( my fellow travellers) shop has drowned and therefore she may not be joinging me on the road to kiwi land.. Number two..the docs has also been swallowed by the river leaving me with no source of oh so important Malaria Tablets. Three the travel agents has taken a prolonged dip so we wont be getting any more help from them and Four no more shops means no more travel gear.. this probably serves me right for leaving it so late..I just hope the post arrives with all my money or I really am screwed with a capital S.
Right now this view is far to surreal- I just want to give my lovely little town a big hug! Drought..here I come...

Tminus 14 days

Woke up this morning with the realisation that I must kick my ass into gear! Stupid amounts to do! This time in two weeks I will be on the plane! I still have no way of actaully accessing my money like a credit card or something, no first aid, malaria tablets, camera or even visas ( although I think we are getting them out there)..oops . Still I have lots of other stuff (not quite as useful stuff) like a travel pillow..and a washing line..boy, wouldnt want to be stuck without them! I have however spent 2 hours today filling my bag with a bunch of heavy stuff and waddling around the house ..an experience I can only describe as feeling like a tortoise on wiskey. Very productive: I have found so many straps on it that I can forsee tangled times ahead! :D

21 Day Count down!

Hi Everyone,
21 days to go until the ultimate travelling experience..I say travelling, really its just an extended holiday! Me and Em are nearly all set to go, just picking up the final bits and peices! Im soooo excited right now that I feel physically sick. I dont think i'll be getting much sleep in the 48 hours before hand! ( mind you that could be useful when trying to sleep on the plane!)
Some time soon i'll put up the itinerary so you can track us! ( its less painfull than actually tagging ourselves electrically! :P)
